My two greatest accomplishments in life are my two boys. If I am lucky enough to leave them any legacy at all, my wish is that I impart enough of my own wisdom to inspire the confidence they will need to feel successful. "Success" can be defined and measured in many ways. My hope is that they get enough of my own intrinsic creativity and individualism to lead them down a path that truly makes them happy, and not one that simply "pays the bills" or is somehow pre-determined for them. I hope they never stop questioning, never settle for the status quo, and most of all, never place artificial limits on what they consider to be possible. If I teach them these things at a minimum, I'll feel successful as their father. Now for my heritage. I'm a country boy at heart and was born and raised in a rural community outside of Oklahoma City. Anything that you could think of to do in that type of environment (which isn't much by most kids' standards today), I've probably done. To be honest, my friends and I are probably just lucky to be alive as I reflect on some of our grand adventures. That said, I learned many valuable things growing up in the "heartland". Firstly, God is good and we could all use a little more time with Him whether you think you need it or not. It's possible to fight fiercely with your friends one minute and laugh hysterically with them the next. If you're going to "talk the talk", then you'd better be able to "walk the walk". I graduated high school as the Valedictorian, I graduated from the University of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner!) with a B.B.A. in Management Information Systems and I've worked in the "high tech" industry ever since.
