Chris Romualdo
Student, Writer, and Art Director in Toronto, Ontario
Hey! I'm Chris and I'm a fourth-year Media Production student at Ryerson University!
I've dipped my toes in a few disciplines (photography, video editing, visual effects) but my main interests are fashion, writing, and music production, so I'm having a great time working on the sketch comedy series "BALLS" as audio lead and art director.
I used to want to be a filmmaker and watched every classic film and video essay I could. While feature films are no longer my main focus, I'd like to work as a music video director someday and bring filmmaking concepts to a medium that's becoming increasingly formulaic. I love how music can tell a linear story or explore an abstract concept, and music videos can be anything you want them to be. They can tell a story or they can be a series of shots that make no sense but encapsulate an emotion.
As I grow older, I'm finding that I prefer telling short-form stories and filling them with tiny details for nerds like me. I take a very analytic approach to art, and could spend days on end studying how every part of something--the blend of a shirt's material, a drum fill in a song-- works on its own and fits in the context of the entire piece.
