Chef Chris Smith started his culinary passion at the young age eight years old, and in his teen years worked his way up through the industry to achieve the status of Executive Chef of his Own Catering Company (Modern Chef Catering Comapny LLC) in Metro Detroit. While indulging his passion for travel, Chris has had the opportunity to cook overseas while in a studies abroad program in Great Britain, Spain. More recently, his culinary adventures guided him to learn more about African Dispora Diet in which his next cook book will be base upon, by studying african culture, cuisines, cooking techniques, as well as new and exciting ingredients never seen by those in the West. Chef Chris has also achieved the Associates in Applied Sciences Degree for Culinary Arts at the Culinary Program at Henry Ford Community College and also receiving his Bachelor Degree in Marketing and Advertising From Davenport University . Always eager to learn, in 2008 he received his Food Safety Manager's certification from Serv Safe, the nationally recognized industry standard in safe food handling practices. Chef Chris has bridged the gap of these worlds and brought them together, all for you to enjoy at your own dining room table. With the ability to create dishes from many facets of the culinary world, he excels in fine dining, refreshing and simple refined food, home-style comfort cooking, as well as upscale catered affairs and banquets.
