Chrissy Wykoff
Houston, Texas, United States
My passion for Journalism developed late, but it has grown to be one of the most important and fulfilling things in my life. My name is Chrissy Wykoff and I am a young African American woman. When I made the decision to come to Texas Southern University I had no idea what I wanted to do until I heard the Tom Joiner morning show, form that day forward I knew I wanted to be a radio journalist.
Throughout my life I have been faced with a lot of hardship but I always knew something good would come of it, being raised by a strong single mother I was always taught to work hard and pray for what I want, do my part and give the rest to God. Faith and religion as always been very important to my life. I rely on God for everything and trust I him for what is to come.
Now that I am here at Texas Southern I plan on doing everything I can to better myself as a journalist I am really trying to learn and observe everything I can to make my dreams come true. This year I have become a board member of the Communications Student Alliance and the NAACP because I not only want to be a student I want to be a socially aware student as preparation for my future.
I have always been a big dreamer ever since I was a child and that has defiantly transferred into my young adulthood. Now that I am work on into moving forward onto my adulthood to fulfill all my dreams of becoming a great journalist.
