If you're looking for a driven, motivated, out-of-the box thinker to build your organizational capacity or alter your organizational culture in the areas of civic engagement and training - look no further.
Christa has spent more than 20 years developing training programs, building relationships, managing projects, and building organizations.
Christa has a vast curriculum library, with topics including: building leadership and coaching skills, employee development and evaluation, volunteer recruitment, retention, and management, public speaking, media relations, time management, and restaurant service delivery. She is also able to craft curriculum for topics unfamiliar to her including nursing practice and electrical and gas code changes. Finally, she has experience building professional development programs featuring online and in-person coursework as well as building mentoring programs. She is comfortable using both Moodle and Captivate to create online learning opportunities.
In April 2016, she will graduate from Athabasca University with a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma - Instructional Design, with an A- average. That program is more than half of the Master's in Distance Education program, in which she intends to enroll in May 2016.
Armed with SFU's Certificate in Dialogue and Civic Engagement, she has built a modern consultation program for a government agency. This process ensures client feedback is sought early and used to guide organizational decision-making. Additionally, she is in charge of beta testing IT systems with clients.
Christa has coordinated hundreds of public events, conferences, press conferences, social/political gatherings, trainings, and consultations. She has extensive experience with non-profit boards serving in a member, chair and resource role.
Christa loves sports. She is an endurance triathlete and certified personal trainer. In 2015, she completed a half ironman. She is currently training for her first full marathon.
