Christen Fields-Carr
My career goal is to be able to artistically critique and influence growth, progress, novelty and expression within political and cultural avenues. The ways in which I will be this influence is through creative mediums such as writing via magazines, and scholarly journals, film(feature films and documentaries), photography, theatre and poetry.
I have committed myself to becoming an artistic warrior for God, bringing forth His word using the mediums of Fine and Creative Art. One of the ways I will merge the avenues of art and politics is by creating a venue where these two worlds can merge. My goal is to open a collection of business buildings where activism and art can be promoted. I will create a multi-layered business comprised of a bookstore, restaurant and theatre, which will act as an educational resource center where youth, young adults and older adults will be offered classes and myriad tools of empowerment to improve the quality of any chosen community. These classes could also be partnered with the educational system with the city (Universities, High school, Elementary schools).
Another way I intend to explore the avenues of art and politics is by creating a nonprofit organization that provides and outsources reconstruction resources for impoverished neighborhoods and communities within the United States. I will also merge art and politics by creating a collection of rehabilitation centers for all forms of abuse and restorations of lives
