A law enforcement professional with experience in team leadership, administrative oversight, and staff development, Chris Throgmorton is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business at Arizona State University. Christopher Michael Throgmorton brings to his studies nearly a decade of experience with the California Highway Patrol, as well as four years of service in the United States Marine Corps. Chris Throgmorton also earned several honors over the course of his career, including multiple Awards of Excellence given by the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce in recognition of his commitment to curbing automobile theft and his general dedication to law enforcement in Ventura County, California.
As an Officer in the California Highway Patrol from 2001 to 2010, Christopher Throgmorton held several responsibilities beyond ensuring the safety of residents in the state. Throgmorton coordinated and processed all overtime hours for his fellow officers, reached department goals for reducing instances of property damage, and enhanced the efficiency of basic operations. In addition, as Training Coordinator, he collaborated with peers on staff training endeavors and planned initiatives aimed at recognizing employees' hard work. Chris Throgmorton also fulfilled the duties of Equal Opportunity Counselor and Public Information Officer, and he led a class on the investigation of vehicle thefts for the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.
Before joining the California Highway Patrol, Chris Throgmorton served as a member of the United States Marine Corps, based out of Yuma, Arizona. In the rank of Sergeant, Throgmorton supervised transportation, assembly/disassembly, and packaging/storage at the Munitions Work Center, and he earned certification to handle explosives. Furthermore, Chris Throgmorton took advantage of the opportunity to train more than 70 fellow Marines, and in doing so laid a solid foundation for his future leadership roles.
