Christian Talbot
In July 2012, I began my tenure as the 13th Head of School at Malvern Prep, an all-boys, Independent, Augustinian, Catholic college preparatory school for grades 6-12. Prior to that, I chaired the English Department at my alma mater, Regis High School, where I taught for 14 years. Earlier in my career I taught at Chaminade High School (Mineola, Long Island) and Benjamin Banneker High School (Washington, DC). After graduating from Regis in 1993, I went on to Georgetown ('97) where I studied English, Art History, and Philosophy. I later completed a Masters degree in Psychoanalysis at the NY Graduate School of Psychoanalysis ('06). After that, I received a certificate for my successful completion of the Jesuit Secondary Education Association's "Seminars in Ignatian Leadership" ('08). As my academic background partly suggests, I'm fascinated by the mind. After having taught a Senior English Elective titled "Madness & Literature" for over a decade as well as an elective on the psychological novels ("romans durs") of Georges Simenon, I created a Senior Seminar at Regis called "Brain/Mind/Soul" (brainmindsoul.blogspot.com). It was Regis' first-ever Senior Seminar, and it will continue on in my absence. Finally, I maintain a blog on questions of educational leadership: http://teaching-excellence.blogspot.com/
