Christian Weah is a self-motivated and energetic young man who is passionate about positive influential change, youth capacity development and entrepreneurship. He holds a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Liberia and a Certificate in Computer Systems and Network from Comprehensive Computer Institute. Over six years, Christian has been involved in Student and Community based leadership. Starting as the Youth Chairman for his community organization, Christian succeeded in uniting the youths, creating employment opportunities, and establishing a thriving environment for creativity. In a quest to make a difference, Christian established the University of Liberia YouthMapper Chapters. During his term as President of the chapter, he established linked with Open Street Map Liberia through which six members of the chapter worked on Worldbank funded projects including Open Cities Africa Mapping Project and Four Counties Digitization Project. Christian has also been a volunteer at Water Mission international where he served as Water Quality Analyst from 2016-2019 and helped facilitate the provision of water treatment facilities to rural health centers across Liberia. Currently, Christian works with iLab Liberia on various remote mapping and field survey projects. Moreover, He is volunteering as an advisor on the boards of Young Liberians for Better Liberia (YLBL), a vibrant youth-led organization promoting youth capacity building. As a former ambassador of insightSTEM Liberia, Christian is helping to promote Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics among high school students through an organization he runs called Liberia Enterprising Youth Network (LEYON). Christian is passionate about learning new things and expending his understanding of how things work. He recently completed and was awarded a certificate in Procurement and Logistics by MercyCorps. He has several other certificates, awards, recognition of distinction and has participated in many leadership workshops and conferences. To list a few, he has Certificate in Leadership and Mindset Training from Awakening Giant USA group, an Academic Excellence Certificate from Youth Exploring Solutions, and OutStanding Essay Certificate from USAID Summmer Camp program. He also attended the International Conference on Advance Trend in ICT held Monrovia.
