I have been fortunate to work in the IT industry all over the world since the 1980's when computers were unwieldy and expensive. We have come a long way since those days of mainframes, terminals and "large" disks that held 10 megabytes of data. It has been a thrill to be part of this evolution and I still marvel on a daily basis at the wonders of modern technology. Now I am working on business focused IT and helping to solve some of the world's more intractable challenges around smart energy solutions and secure, insightful delivery of BIG Data.

My personal passions are centred on the natural world and I am becoming increasingly active with causes addressing marine conservation, animal rights and wildlife exploitation.
