Christian Kutzner

Economist and Art Historian in Freetown, Sierra Leone. From Germany

Christian Kutzner

Economist, art historian, currently seconded by Services overseas, a subsidiary of Bread for the World, as a consultant in fundraising, public relations and organizational development.

In a career spanning more than 25 years, he has managed refugee shelters with multicultural staff, worked at the Federal Office for Refugee Affairs in Berlin, conducted research on population and development, developed and organized events and large-scale projects, and met the needs of diverse stakeholders. He has also worked for international non-governmental organizations in Africa and Asia, exploring markets for renewable energy and strategies to reduce the causes of flight. He co-founded and ran an association promoting urban civil society and was for many years the office manager of a think tank. In all these positions, he has demonstrated his ability to work in a focused and service-oriented manner. A generalist rather than a specialist, he quickly adapts to different contexts and enjoys analyzing and solving problems.
