Christie Neumann

I am a 21st Century Instructional Specialist for Tierney Brothers, Inc., training teachers in all aspects of instructional technology and best practices. I love my job!

I began my education in the field of zoology, gathering a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree before realizing that school was where I loved to be, so I went back to get my Master’s in Education and later my Education Specialist degree. My mother says I found a way to never have to leave the classroom.

I taught for 11 years, from grade 7 up through graduate level college courses. I truly enjoy the process and logic of science, and have taught everything except physics (which is fine by me).

My current position with TBI allows me to work with motivated, supported teachers and I am constantly amazed at the wonderful ideas and talents of these teachers. I enjoy working with the districts and helping the teachers to learn their new “toys”, whether that be the SMART Board they just received or the LearnPads that now reside in their classroom. It challenges me to think of better ways to educate all of our children, and it’s fantastic.

When I’m not working, I live in a very loud household consisting of 1 husband, 3 boys, and 2 large dogs. I love to cook and bake, and make the best mashed potatoes ever. I teach Zumba, and love the music and choreographing my own songs. My husband just likes to tease me that none of my songs are in English. I most decidedly do not enjoy the cold weather of Wisconsin, but I do love the Packers, cheese, and skinning the animals my husband brings home (there’s the zoologist in me- she never left!). I am a 2 time traditional surrogate, to a girl and a boy who live vastly different lives in Atlanta and NYC, and I am grateful to be a part of them. I love reading, laugh at the most ridiculous, punny jokes, and the little adventures our hooligan tribe finds on a regular basis.
