I'm a science journalist based in New York. Currently I'm a contributing editor at Scientific American, CBS’ SmartPlanet and the design magazine, Core77. In 2012 I co-founded the publishing platform Publet. I host Scientific American’s weekly podcast, 60-Second Mind, co-founded the publishing startup, Publet, and I've been an on-air contributor to Slate, the Discovery Channel and Science Channel. A hightlight of my career is working with Alan Alda and the amazing team at the Alda Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University where we help scientists communicate with the public. I've spoken about science, technology and communication at SXSW Interactive, the MIT/Stanford VLAB, Sundance Film Festival, The National Science Foundation and the Space Studies Board of the National Academy of Sciences.
