You can learn a lot about me by a glimpse of the shelves on my bedroom walls. One shelf is filled with dance trophies. Another shelf is filled with swimming ribbons hanging down from my basketball trophies. The shelf next to my dresser holds the case to my crown and sash of Miss Mid-Atlantic Perfect Teen. The final shelf holds the award I received for participating in the International Festival in Crete, Greece. I was awarded a fully paid two-week trip to go to one of the most beautiful places in the Mediterranean.
As children we like to perform for attention. I was surprised when friends of mine told me; they get nervous speaking in front of an audience. On the other hand, I find it very exciting to speak in front of a group. This experience in my life has inspired me to hone in on my communication skills and find ways to make my love of performing work together. I know its hard work but “hard work pays off”. With all my hard work, I hope to accomplish my dream job as a broadcast meteorologist. In accomplishing my dream career, this fall semester I am joining the school radio station. Also, I plan to gain an internship with FOX 45 working alongside a meteorologist at the station this coming spring or summer.
