Christina Leo:
A recent graduate from Louisiana State University with dual degrees in Creative Writing and Mass Communication. I have a passion for visuals, whether on the page or in the imagination, and hope that the printed word continues to stay alive in the midst of advancing technology.
My high school senior honors thesis taught me most about research and discipline, and is still my proudest collection of academic work. Titled, "A Rebel Yell: Pop Culture in 19th Century Romanticism and Rock and Roll," it comments on the interconnectivity of cultural and literary themes using Romantic poetry and rock and roll lyrics. I hope to continue to immerse myself in the worlds of creative people for years to come.
In addition, my journalism training has allowed a profile story I wrote about a former LSU student to be published in The Advocate. I consider it a small, but fruitful step toward goals that wait down the line.
Since then, my clips include several articles and reviews for Country Roads Magazine, as well roles as a contributing writer for Sound on Sight.
Now, with experience as a copy editor for The Daily Reveille and as editorial intern for The Southern Review and Country Roads Magazine, I aim to advance into the publishing industry with an open mind and original insights into the world of literature and authorship.
