Hello fellow candidates,

First, I am very excited to discuss, collaborate and learn with all of you. I am a secondary science teacher in an Ontario school board and have been teaching over 13 years with teachables in biology and chemistry. I truly love teaching science and try to find interesting ways to impart the material to my students. I like a classroom where students are engaged, feel that they are an important part of the learning process and collaborate with each other. I decided to take this course because I often teach english language learners and wanted to better equip myself with tools and strategies to meet the needs of my students. It is essential, for me, to know my students and their backgrounds in a classroom that is inclusive and celebrates diversity. I just completed special education part 1 and found it to be a very positive and educational experience.

Along with teaching, I am very busy at home with three young daughters and my husband. As a family we enjoy staying active, watching movies and playing ringette, which take up most of our weekends!
