I live in northern Michigan surrounded by miles of beautiful beaches and trails. Rural roads, when followed long enough, will take you into small towns that have kept their Rockwellian charm.

We moved to one such town from the East Coast 17 years ago to be closer to family and friends and because the promise of a slower pace and simpler lifestyle attracted us. I shelved my writing career and devoted my time to raising our children who are grown now and settled.

I am excited about returning to work as a writer and want to focus on the field of medical communications. I have had a passion for learning about medicine most of my life, and would rather read Gray's Anatomy than watch it.

So to learn the skills particular to medical writing, I am taking classes through the University of Chicago and will earn a certificate in medical writing and editing this Spring or early Summer. In the meantime, I am available for freelance editing and proofreading assignments.
