Christina Middelveen

Christina Middelveen is the lead Social Media Officer at the University of Ottawa’s Alumni Association, responsible for social media management on behalf of the organization. After graduating with a B.A. in English and Psychology at the University of Ottawa, Christina volunteered through the university’s Centre for Global and Community Engagement (CGCE) in social media and event planning placements. She has increased her alumni association’s Twitter impressions by 128% since being added to the team. While gaining this experience, Christina fell in love with the high engagement that social media provides and began a social media program offered by Algonquin College. She plans on interning in London, England in September 2016 for a position in public relations.

In her spare time, Christina plays piano, reads avidly and dabbles with archery at her local recreation centre. She also loves topics surrounding fashion and beauty, which sparked her interest in creating her own personal blog, Pinterest and Twitter accounts. Additionally, she aspires to start her own Instagram specifically for fashion and beauty posts.

Christina continues to gain valuable work experience with her university’s alumni association, while also acquiring her certificate in social media. She will obtain her PRISM certificate, an online program offered by PR Couture, in May 2016. Christina lives in Ottawa, Ontario.
