Christina Pelayo Ondevilla
Christina enjoys working with people and loves to write. She asks all the right questions to get an interesting story angle. Twenty years in the business of dealing with the press and media, corporations, governments, non-government organizations, religious institutions, and the general public, gives her an edge in her work.
Her journey into photography stems from the desire "to tell story through pictures." Christina counts herself very lucky to have a partner who mentors her in photography and supports her writing profession. Her articles and photographs have been used in various travel magazines and in-flight publications.
She teaches Bahasa Indonesia at an international language school, develops course materials, and provides translation & interpretation services. Her students include corporate executives and foreign diplomats. Christina is also an Indonesian Language Assessor for Singapore Tourism Board. She is highly experienced as liaison officer working on inter-government and private sector cooperation between Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Philippines.
On weekends Christina is a story reader to children at the National Library, helping to develop and inspire love of reading in children of all ages. She also teaches computer skills to domestic workers at a non-profit organization dedicated to 'enriching lives through financial education'.
Christina has lived in Indonesia, Philippines, Japan, and is currently based in Singapore. She travels extensively thoughout Asia, Europe, and America. Creative writing, poetry, short stories, blogging, teaching, story telling, these are some of her personal interests. Gifted with a natural aptitude for languages, she speaks 5 languages fluently.
