ChristineWelch is the proud owner of Western Bay Driving School(WBD), one of Tauranga’s most trusted drivinginstitutions. Beginning the journey in 1997, Christine (also known as Chris)continues to build a reputation founded on excellence and success.

Chris,a proud Kiwi, was qualified in the United Kingdom as a driving and motorbikeinstructor in 2000. She spent 2 years learning the craft under intense andqualified guidance. After her training, Chris ventured to gain advanced highspeed motorway training on one of UK’s busiest motorways.

Apartfrom being a UK-trained advanced driving instructor, she is also a qualifiedNZTA motorbike assessor and instructor (35 years of riding experience, 10 yearsin motorcross).

Asthe owner of Western BayDriving School in Tauranga, Chris strives to provide her students with thehighest quality training. She believes that good driving is not about theconfidence; there should be greater focus on road safety. All WBD students,first timers or professionals, will undergo intensive training so that theygain the necessary driving skills.

Christineuses a relaxed approach to ensure lessons are fun and enjoyable. She recommendsall students to undergo theDefensive Driving Course(DDC) in Taurangatoreduce their time on restricted licenses by up to 6 months. Classes take placefrom 3:00pm – 4:30 pm and runs for 2 weeks.
