Christine Correa
Costa Mesa, CA
My name is Christine Correa and I am currently attending Vanguard University of Southern California. As a Worship Studies major, I plan on attaining my Bachelor of Arts degree in 2015. I believe that God has called me to lift up a joyful noise in the form of worship since the age of 18. In diligent pursuit of my calling, I intern at His Place Church in Westminster, CA, where I lead worship.
Philosophy of Worship
Worship is not just an experience, it is a lifestyle that pleases the Lord and exalts Him for who He is. I believe that worship should show our adoration and loyalty to God for His grace, in providing us with the way to escape the bondage of sin, so we can have salvation. The nature of the worship God demands is the prostration of our souls before Him with humbled and contrite submissions. James 4:6 states, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”Worship is a lifestyle in where one humbles themselves in the eyes of the Lord and realizes that they are nothing without Him. Worship is an expression of being thankful, delighted and in awe of the sovereign God.
Statment of Faith
I believe in God the Father, Almighty Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord.Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary.Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried..He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead.He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost.I believe in the holy catholic church: the communion of saints. The foriveness of sins. The resurrection of the body. And the life everlasting. Amen
Ephesians 2:8-10 states, “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”Reading this scripture, I cannot help but worship my Creator. He has made me whole again and has given me the opportunity to live life, not because I deserve but because He loves me.
