Sometimes I give talks. I recently moderated the panel "Solarpunk and Other Worlds" at the Ars Electronica Festival and participated in the closing plenary. My talk "The Story is a Forest" was presented at Sari-Sari, Trust and rC3. It was also published as a two-part article in Branch Magazine. I had a conversation on ecological economics with Terence Sharpe at Trust. I was a guest on the New Models podcast and the Humans + Computers podcast, as well as a contributor to the New Models Module 1: Imagining Collapse workshop. My talk "The Fisher King: Solving Climate Change in a Post-Truth World" was presented at Metadada and Up.front. "Nostalgia in the Age of Social Media: Identity, Meaning & Connection" was presented at Up.front and re:publica 2017. The talk was covered by Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
I've spoken at Codemotion about my experience at a Django Girls coding workshop.
I spend a lot of time in forests foraging edible and medicinal plants and fungi. Relatedly, I’m into wild cookery, and making perfumes.
I also like thinking about the selection, placement, and care of house plants. Here's an example of a plant installation I did for a local startup.
In whatever time that remains, I forage and cook for the homeless, write poetry, go running and bouldering, and most of all—hang out with my best friend Merlin.
