welcome to my page!
since april 2023, i am serving the bavarian american academy in munich as its managing director.
over the past years, i have worked as a lecturer at the university of salzburg (austria) and srh university heidelberg (germany) as well as a freelance science communicator, focusing on online communication for academic institutions in austria, germany, and switzerland. prior to that, I was a research associate in the field of american studies at salzburg university in austria, where i was awarded a phd in the field of american literary and cultural studies for a dissertation on transnational trends in the work of contemporary indigenous filmmaker from the countries we currently know as aotearoa/new zealand, australia, canada, and the united states. for my dissertation, i received the fulbright prize in american studies, which is annually awarded by fulbright austria.
from 2015-2017, i worked as a science communication trainee in the press and public relations department of the german research foundation (dfg) in bonn, germany. prior to this, i have gained experiences in the fields of science communication, journalism, translation (german-english/english-german), and copy-editing.
my studies focused on anglophone literary and cultural studies. before my doctoral work, i have obtained an ma degree in “english studies and the creative industries” from the university of salzburg as well as a ba degree in english and american studies and south asian studies from the university of heidelberg, germany. in addition, i studied abroad at acu melbourne, focusing on creative arts and culture.
