Born in Wembley, England, and raised in Windsor, Ontario, I began my professional life as an athlete, drafted by the BC Lions in 1985. I went on to become an award-winning principal at Lawrence Heights Middle School, then Director of Education at the Toronto District School Board, the largest in Canada and fourth-largest in North America, and later Director of Education at the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, serving over 50,000 students.
In addition to my work in education, I’m an award-winning filmmaker and author of several books. I hold a PhD in education and remain passionate about combining creativity, scholarship, and community leadership.
