I'm a research fellow at the Institute for Media and Communication, University in Oslo and visiting fellow at the Beeck Center for Social Innovation and Policy Impact at Georgetown University. I study how open government is institutionalized, and how digital media influences interactions between governments and civil society. I've also got bones to pick when it comes to impact metrics, responsible data, and policy development for participatory politics.

I blog about civic tech research, at https://methodicalsnark.org.

Previously I supported civil society governance assessments and data strategies in the UNDP, and co-founded the engine room, where I led research, responsible data, and methods.

I also hang out with kids a lot, climb a mean tree, perform the occasional wedding, play burlesque bass, cultivate an Islay collection, and croon. On a good day.
