’ve spent most of my life in Olympia, Washington, and a lot of what shaped me came from sports, school, family, and public service. I grew up playing baseball and football, and I still play softball today. Sports taught me to stay disciplined, work as part of a team, and keep putting in effort even when things are difficult.

I studied Criminal Justice and Psychology in college, which gave me a strong foundation for the work I wanted to do. Since then, I’ve worked in several different areas of law enforcement and corrections, including corrections, jail work, reserve policing, and full-time police work with departments around Washington.

Those different roles have given me a wider view of the profession. One of the biggest things I believe in is training. Law enforcement is not a job where you can stop learning. There is always something to improve, whether that means communication, decision-making, physical preparation, or learning from people with more experience.

Community engagement is also important to me, especially when it comes to young people. I think positive interactions matter. Sometimes simply talking with someone, answering questions, or being present in the community can help build trust over time.

Outside of work, I like to stay active. I work out, play softball, hike, camp, and spend time outdoors whenever I can. Fly fishing in Montana is one of the things I especially enjoy when I get the chance. I also make family time a priority.

My approach to most things is pretty simple. Put in the work, keep learning, and make time for what matters.
