Christopher Clifton

Christopher R. Clifton holds the rare distinction of being a Board Certified Specialist in State and Federal Criminal Law. As a criminal defense lawyer and partner at Grace, Tisdale & Clifton P.A. in Winston-Salem, Chris focuses most of his practice on serious felony cases. Chris has been involved in many complex and high profile cases over the years. He recently worked with Michael Grace on the appeal team for Ernie Pitt, who was charged with defrauding the Housing Authority. The conviction was successfully overturned thanks to their efforts.

Chris is a member of many professional legal organizations, and previously serviced as the chair of the Federal Bar Association. He also served two terms as the chair of the Criminal Justice Committee for the N.C. Bar Association. Outside of his legal practice, he also publishes articles and lectures regarding criminal sentencing, gaming law, and other topics.
