Professional Biography
Christopher J. Barber is an Accomplished Civil/Environmental Engineer with almost 20 years of experience in the design, construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of underground utilities and pipelines including a significant amount of experience focused on municipal water distribution systems. Other experience includes construction inspection and project management. He is a proven leader with exceptional management, conceptualization and team-building skills, along with a proven ability to bring projects to completion on time and at a reasonable cost.
Christopher brings a thorough understanding of what it takes to manage Civil and Environmental Engineering Projects of all types, ensuring that the planning, execution, and completion of such projects are done according to specifications. Career highlights include obtaining his Engineer-in-Training Certification from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1992 and Licensure as a Water Supply Operator in the State of Delaware in 2002; as well as being recognized for Outstanding Utility Coordination by the Delaware Department of Transportation in 2003. In addition, Christopher served as President of the Delaware Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers from 2003 to 2005.
Throughout his career, Christopher has always been known for having a strong sense of purpose and the ability to build strong relationships with co-workers. Committed to high standards, he is consistently able to achieve optimal results by using this strong attention to detail.
Christopher graduated from Drexel University in 1992 with dual Bachelor of Science Degrees in Civil and Architectural Engineer. He later attended the Pennsylvania State University in the evening and received a Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering in 1999 while continuing to work full-time. Currently, he is seeking a Master of Science in Management – with a focus on Project Management – from Colorado Technical University (Expected Graduation : 2014) and has also been trained in the general use of the AutoCAD and ArcGIS software. With major interests in travel, sports (including fishing), and life-long learning, he enjoys all aspects of his lifestyle.
