Christopher L. Jeter

Christopher Jeter is a senior Sport Management/Marketing major at Winston-Salem State University. He is a spring 2013 initiate of the Beta Iota Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. While maintaining a 3.13 GPA and working towards his Bachelor of Science degree, Christopher is involved in many different groups and organizations on WSSU's campus. Currently he is the president of a community service based organization, named Rams H.O.P.E (Helping Others Prosper Everyday), where the organization volunteers at numerous benefits and events held in the Winston-Salem, NC community.

Within the Beta Iota chapter, Christopher serves as Historian and Chair of the Fraternity's national program, Project Alpha. Within these two positions, he is responsible for maintaining an annual chronicle of the chapter, and is in charge of the displays to be used at campus, community events.

In athletics, Christopher is a member of the Rams Tennis team, where he serves as team captain. He is also the Men's Tennis representative and President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, where members act as liaisons between the Department of Athletics and its athletes. Being a part of Ram athletics has taught Christopher that "Teamwork Makes the Dream Work"; a motto that he lives by. Christopher believes this motto can also serve true in the world of work.

Christopher's ultimate goal is to help empower the next generation of students. In doing so, he plans to utilize the sport of tennis, and possibly connecting with various school systems. Christopher plans to ensure that the next generations of students know that they can be whatever they set their mind to.

In the community, Christopher has a great deal of passion for working with younger children. He visits regularly to Hall-Woodward Elementary, and Carver High School in the city of Winston-Salem. Also, he is dedicated to working with a program called “Young Folks Tennis”, in which he coaches children between the ages of 5-17 the game of tennis on Saturday mornings. Moreover, he was responsible for creating a tennis camp for children in the Newport News, VA community during the summer of 2012. With this camp, he coordinated and executed the high performance summer tennis program, with the help of former high school teammates.
