Christopher Kerry
Academic in Cambridge, United Kingdom
Hello — I’m Chris Kerry, a Senior Lecturer in Innovation and Strategy at Anglia Ruskin University, researcher, and educator with a passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and helping students and organisations realise their potential. Alongside my academic work, I previously served as Deputy Head of School for Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, where I gained extensive experience in academic leadership, curriculum development, and strategic planning.
My work sits at the intersection of innovation, entrepreneurship, strategy, and enterprise development. I am particularly interested in helping students understand how organisations identify opportunities, create value, and respond to complex and rapidly changing environments. I believe learning is most effective when it is active, authentic, and connected to real-world challenges, enabling students to develop both academic knowledge and practical capability.
My research explores areas including open innovation, entrepreneurship ecosystems, Triple Helix collaborations, innovation strategy, and emerging technologies such as the metaverse and digital innovation within service industries. I enjoy working with businesses, public-sector organisations, and international partners on projects that strengthen entrepreneurial capacity, support innovation, and generate meaningful impact for communities and regions.
Throughout my career, I have led programme developments, contributed to institutional strategy, secured external funding, and collaborated with a diverse range of stakeholders. My experience as Deputy Head of School continues to inform my approach to leadership, teaching, and research, providing a practical perspective on how universities can support both individual success and wider economic and social development.
Beyond academia, I maintain a strong interest in technology, digital transformation, business strategy, and global trends. Whether working with students, supporting entrepreneurial ventures, or collaborating with organisations, I am motivated by helping people turn ideas into action and create lasting value.
If you’re interested in innovation, entrepreneurship, strategy, enterprise education, or collaborative research, I’d be delighted to connect.
