Christopher Nicholson

I am an experienced Film Director with over 25 years of professional directing experience and a reputation for being an "Actor's Director".

A scientifically trained visual artist, I've made feature films and short films (both in 2D and 3D), cinema and TV commercials, live and multi-camera TV and documentaries.

I'm excellent at working with actors and protecting the narrative, have a detailed technical knowledge, am highly creative and have a personal defined style.

As an expert in modern 3D techniques, I have also designed, developed and registered a revolutionary new form of three-dimensional filmmaking called NVE®, Natural Viewing Experience. NVE® provides a far more satisfying experience for the audience, is robust and quick to use, is very actor-friendly, is backwardly compatible with all current 3D filmmaking techniques and is a process patent lawyers have described as “a potential industry game-changer”.

In the UK, I was the first to shoot a cinema commercial digitally in association with Sony who were pioneering the process we now know to be digital cinematography, the first to create a commercial that incorporated live action footage in a Virtual Studio and the first to shoot with Vision 2 T-Grain film stock in association with Kodak.

I have been Creative Director and Executive Producer of a number of charity projects including nationwide cinema and TV campaigns for leading UK homeless charity Crisis and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

My work with disadvantaged teenagers from the Prince’s Trust resulted in me receiving a personal commendation from HRH Prince Charles.

I am the principal Film Industry Consultant for the University of Bedfordshire’s MA programme in Digital Filmmaking and have been a Guest Lecturer at film and drama schools throughout the UK including LAMDA, The Actor's Temple, The Actor's Centre, Central London School of Dramatic Art, The Arts Institute, International School of Screen Acting, Mountview.

I am also a Trustee and Board Member of the Directors Guild of Great Britain and a full member of Directors UK.

I am currently developing four different feature films and a TV pilot.
