Christopher Tisler
Superintendent - Drilling Fluids /Oil and Gas in Midland, Texas
Christopher Tisler is a superintendent managing drilling fluids engineers and a software technology entrepreneur based in Chico, CA. A native of Detroit, MI, he enlisted in the US Army at 17, serving as an Infantryman in Friedberg, Germany. The lessons in resilience, discipline, and mental toughness he gained from his military experience have been essential in his transition to the oilfield and technology sectors. Starting as a Rig Hand, he worked his way up the ranks to become an expert in drilling fluid technology, demonstrating how determination and hard work can lead to success.
Christopher’s early years alternated between Detroit, where he lived with his mother, and Bakersfield, CA, where he stayed with his father. He first entered the oil industry in Michigan, working as a roughneck. His responsibilities included physically demanding tasks such as tripping pipes, maintaining drilling equipment, and assisting with drilling. Simultaneously, he attended a local community college to study Computer Information Systems. This decision set the stage for his dual career in the oil and technology fields.
In the past decade, Christopher has co-founded two software companies and developed five mobile apps, primarily focused on the oil and gas sector. His most notable venture, White Tie Fantasy, introduced an innovative auction-based draft system to daily fantasy sports. In 2018, he sold the intellectual property for White Tie Fantasy, but the impact of the app’s design continues to be felt in today's industry.
After moving back to Michigan, Christopher enlisted in the US Army. He served in Germany and earned several awards, including the German Sports Badge and Army Achievement Medal. Upon discharge, he furthered his education by attending the Florida Institute of Technology, where he studied Computer Information Systems.
