Christopher J. Wolfel
Chris is s senior Business Administration student at Northeastern University pursing a BSBA with a dual concentration in Entrepreneurship and Marketing with a minor in Emerging Markets. Currently Chris is the CEO of IDEA: Northeastern's Venture Accelerator he joined the IDEA team in 2010 and erved as the Events Manager and then Marketing Officer before being promoted to CEO. Since taking over IDEA in December of 2011 Chris and his team has grown the program to over 75 ventures and over $200,000 in annual Gap Funding.
Besides running IDEA Chris is also a big brother for Big Brother of Massachusetts Bay as well as being an integral part of the Xi-Beta Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity where he has held multiple positions including Brotherhood Chair and Major Events Chair, where he brought performances such as Adam Savage to campus.
Chris has completed two co-ops so far at his time at Northeastern, the first was as a Sales Associate for EMC. While at EMC Chris completed a global leading sales and technology training program and worked closely with Inside Sales Representatives to sell EMC solutions. Chris' second co-op was completed at Nine Technology where he was an Inside Sales Representative where he handled everything from sales to marketing and social media to invoicing. Chris will be co-oping for IDEA full time from June 2012-January 2013 with a goal of growing the program even more. Chris also consults for Julian Hard Cider helping them grow a blossoming hard cider company based in San Diego.
Chris says he enjoys traveling and start-ups and hopes to combine his two passions into a career of startups. Graduating in May he is trying to find the next stage in his career.
