Christoph Otto

I am a photographer and writer born 1966 in West-Berlin. After years abroad I now live in the German capital again. I have studied photography at the „Centro de los Estudios de la Imagen“ in Madrid and finished my studies with a Diploma for Photography and Master of Photojournalism. After the German reunification I returned to Berlin and studied journalism at the Henri-Nannen-Schule Berlin. So lately magazines have taken the opportunity to acquire outstanding text and photo stories of one source. My photo reportages depicting extraordinary human ways of life have found international acclaim. The photos and texts are published in books and magazines among others in Geo, Merian, D-Magazine, Marie Claire, Life, Figaro Magazine and Geographical. National and international assignments have given me the opportunity to be thoroughly acquainted with the specific circumstances of Europe, North and South America and Asia. My photo work is presented in exhibitions, collections and museums, like in the Japanese 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa. The clients I work with value my understanding and sensibility for people and situations, my teamwork and assertiveness whenever necessary. I am able to manage even the most difficult assignments regardless how sensitive the subject, mastering them with my own distinctly vivid visual language. Further to my photostory, portrait and text assignments for magazines I also take photo assignments for corporate, industrial and advertising clients. Please note that in addition to my Berlin headquarter I have a suboffice in Madrid from where I can start to work throughout Spain within a few hours. My extended network helps me to realize worldwide missions. German is my native language but I speak English and Spanish fluently, too.
