My name is Christy Barton. I am a singer, songwriter, and poet. My goal and mission is to create an experience through music. I know you are wondering what does that mean. For me it means I just don't want you to listen to music but experience the music, the journey for which the music was created. I want people to relive a moment in their lives when they listen to my music. Music should capture you and that is what I want my music to do. Our own life experience is what makes us unique and original.

I've being writing music since the age of eleven but music has been apart of me since my birth. I recorded my first song at the age of eighteen " Wherever the Praises Are", and since then I have been writing and self-producing my own music. To make me a better songwriter, and all around musician I enrolled into FullSail University, Fall of 2012 and my life has been forever changed.

I'm not only empowered by music but by seeing a person’s life change for the better. I was a youthleader in my local church in Louisiana for about four years. I am currently working on a youth movement call Kingdom Kidds Takeover. Kingdom Kidds Takeover is a movement for the inner city youth of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the movement is to help empower the youth in every area of their lives and prepare them for life. I have my own inspirational segment on YouTube, where I do inspirational speaking, play inspirational music and end the segment with prayer. My YouTube channel also features my poetry as well.

I have a heart for change and a heart for the youth. I hope to empower a generation with my words and to create an experience with my music.
