Olamilusi Christianah Omoyeni

Student, Researcher, Educator, Chef, Cognitive Scientist, and Zoologist in Russia

My name is Olamilusi Christianah Omoyeni, the second of two children in my family. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Cognitive Sciences and Technologies: From Neuron to Cognition at the National Research University, Higher School of Economics (HSE), Moscow, Russia.

My academic journey reflects a strong interdisciplinary orientation, bridging biological sciences and cognitive sciences. With a foundation in zoology, I developed a deep interest in behavior, brain–body relationships, and biological mechanisms underlying cognition. This interest naturally evolved into cognitive science, where I focus particularly on emotions and neuroscience, exploring how neural and biological systems shape behavior, perception, and mental processes.

I have teaching and educational experience working with children with special needs at the Special Education Centre under the Ministry of Education in Uyo, Nigeria. This role strengthened my passion for inclusive education, empathy-driven learning, and the practical application of cognitive and behavioral principles to support diverse learners. In addition, I participated in volunteer initiatives connected to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), contributing to community-oriented projects focused on education, social impact, and development.

Beyond academics and teaching, I am professionally trained as a chef and a certified pizza maker. This creative pursuit has enhanced my discipline, precision, and problem-solving skills, while also serving as an expressive outlet that complements my scientific interests. I also enjoy writing and music, which allow me to reflect, communicate ideas, and connect meaningfully with others.

I am deeply motivated by helping people, advancing research, promoting education, and fostering creativity. My long-term goal is to further build a career in education and research, contributing to knowledge at the intersection of neuroscience, emotion, and biological foundations of cognition, while remaining committed to impactful teaching and lifelong learning.
