Christy C. Garrison has worked in higher education for over 18 years, the last ten as an award-winning instructor. Her areas of specialization include 20th century African American history, Women's History, Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies, and American History. She is currently completing a manuscript on black southern women in leadership, as well as an exploration of Afro-Latinx suffrage.
