Most 4 year olds have a 'blankie' or a stuffed animal... I had an Apple II computer. In third grade, my peers were hand writing book reports in cursive...

My book reports were typed on a Macintosh computer and printed on dot matrix paper, complete with computer generated images.

In middle school, most kids were going to the local library for information to write research reports... I was home using the still somewhat unknown Internet to do my research.

In high school, team captains were creating scrapbooks and bulletin boards to share photos... As captain of my high school flagline, I built our team a multi-page website.

In the Shelby County Junior Miss pageant, the interview segment question was, "If you were stranded on a desert island and could only take one item, what would it be?" Most participants said "photo albums" or "the Bilble", etc. I answered "My computer". Of course.

While most parents of my high school peers were complaining about high phone bills, my parents were complaining about high AOL bills - instant messaging was my phone.

It really was no surprise to anyone that I graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Computer Engineering - 1 of 5 females in a graduating class of 60. I then continued my education and earned an MBA with a focus on E-commerce.

Today I cannot surf the Web or shop online without creating a laundry list in my head of all of the ways the site could be improved or enhanced.

Ladies and Gentleman -- this is the profile of a bonified computer nerd. I grew up immersed in technology and learned at an early age to solve problems and communicate using technology.

Today I'm still just as passionate about all things tech, social media, and Web. I have the unique ability to talk technology to non-tech folks and to talk non-tech to technology folks. I am a technology translator and technology solutions extraordinaire.
