Christy Yip

Hi, I'm Christy.

I hail from Singapore, a small country with big dreams and great ambitions.

As an aspiring photojournalist, I am currently pursuing a degree in Communication Studies at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information in Nanyang Technological University.

It's the chase that inspires me - the chase to uncover truths, the chase to tell unheard stories and the chase to trigger emotions.

The beautiful irony of photojournalism is how it brings stories to life through immortalising the precise, perfect moments that ultimately make the story what it is.

I live for that chase, and scoring those moments.

My journey with photography began when my father taught me to avoid that dustbin in the frame, to target that passerby right in the middle, and snap away without warning.

Today, I shoot with my trusted Canon 700D and 50D.

I do well with portraits and I add a human touch to the photos I take - not because I think we rule the world but because it makes the moment and the scene so much more relatable to my audience.
