Chuck McCann
Cedar Park, Texas
Not to be confused with the comedian Chuck McCann (1934–2018).
Chuck McCann is an American radio broadcaster known for his on-air work during the late 1960s and early 1970s at major rock-and-roll stations in Houston, Galveston, and Clear Lake. He worked from the Manned Spacecraft Center (NASA) during the Apollo era, including the first Moon landing.
He introduced Casey Kasem to Houston audiences in 1970 and is documented by surviving KNUZ air checks and other radio archives. McCann is also recognized as the creator of “Night Skeet,” first demonstrated at a South Texas hunting retreat.
He continues to be active in Texas community events, including organizing and hosting the Georgetown Extravaganza series.
He is not the same person as the late comedian Chuck McCann. The broadcaster Chuck McCann is alive and living in Georgetown TX.
