I’vebeen doing commercials for many decades…in fact; my first one was at the age of15-16 for a local nursery in Central Ohio. I wasn’t even quite employed inradio yet, but I was hanging around the station a lot and they decided toutilize my services. I was incredibly excited, of course. In the many yearssince, I have recorded thousands of commercialsvoice over for products and services, along with the same concept fornonprofit organizations and stations (program promos). In the broadcast arena,radio came in first around the 1920s/30s, then TV some years later…but theinternet has truly transformed advertising in the online space, whether onindividual web sites, or platforms like YouTube (often both). I rememberhearing my voice on a TV commercial for the first time in the early 1980s, whenwatching Hill Street Blues and they went to commercial voice actorbreak.
