I am Associate Professor of Pastoral Care and Counseling at Western Theological Seminary, Holland, MI, and co-founder and Senior Fellow at Newbigin House of Studies, San Francisco.

I am the author of Leaving Egypt: Finding God in Wilderness Places, a husband, and a father of two girls.

I am an avid reader and writer, and blog at The New Exodus, where I develop ideas as a Reformed Christian interested in the intersections of pastoral care, counseling, mission, theology, and more.
