Cindy Chun

I'm Graphic Designer currently working as a freelancer. I've been working in the surf industry since starting at Local Motion in 2003 and then at Xcel Wetsuits in 2010. What I love about working in the industry is going to trade shows and meeting all kinds of people! I started off as a doodler and then fine tuned my skills in the fine arts program at UH Manoa. Later, I got my Communications/Graphic Design AS degree at Honolulu Community College. However, I graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Fashion Merchandise BS degree as a way of graduating quickly since I excelled at the classes. On my free time I own my own freelance business called, Bon Voyage Studios. I think of it as sending off my clients to a great journey after helping them with their designs. Not to mention I love French words (and I did visit France!). My favorite program is Adobe Illustrator and I basically design with a mouse. However, I recently purchased a Wacom! My favorite things to design are t-shirt art and logos. I've also done signage and packaging labels. I learned to start with a sketch to separating art for the printers. However, I gotta thank my piano teacher for pushing me to do greeting cards and other hand drawn stuff for her before the computer era! I am fascinated with pictures, especially on Instagram (girlNumber5) and Pinterest (Cindy Chun). I'm also a tech junkie. I love the latest phone, software, app…Besides design, I enjoy Salted Caramel Gelato, Caramel Macchiato iced coffee, concerts, sewing, mountain biking, long boarding, snorkeling, stand up paddle boarding, hanging with friends, photography (basic), hiking, Zumba, running, and spending time with my family.
