Cierra Louise Bartelt is from San Diego, California and started performing when she enrolled in her first vocal lesson. Her interest in musical theater quickly grew when she joined her middle school performing arts class and soon after she knew she wanted to pursue musical theater as a career. To further her experience she auditioned for Coronado School of the Arts for musical theater. While attending, Ms. Bartelt auditioned and participated in several musicals ranging from Zombie Prom to The 25 Annual Putman County Spelling Bee to 42 Street. Cierra was also involved in a production of Macbeth, 8 musical theater reviews, dance performances, and performed gigs around the San Diego area. During the summer of 2010, Cierra attended the Boston Conservatory vocal intensive program as well as Berklee College of Music’s vocal summit in Boston. When she returned home she started an internship at the San Diego Symphony for the rest of the summer. She is very active in the musical theater community at Berklee and was honored to play Amber VonTussle in Berklee Musical Theater Club’s production of Hairspray, which was performed at the Berklee Performance Center. Cierra is currently in rehearsals as Jeanie for Berklee’s production of Hair the musical, which opens this April. After receiving her degree for Vocal Performance and a minor in Drama at Berklee, Cierra plans to move to New York to pursue her musical theater career.
