Ciera E. Hill
Hey guys! My name is Ciera (my friends often call me CC) and I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. I have forgiven Lebron James for "the decision" (Go CAVS!) and, as an alumna of THE Ohio State University, I figuratively bleed scarlet and grey (Go Bucks!). I fully recognize that I am now in Big 12 country and although I can't promise that I'll cheer for the Longhorns if they meet the Buckeyes in the national championship, I can promise that I am SO excited to be here at McCombs. I'm looking forward to getting to know and learning from each and every one of you!
For the past 5 years, I was a consultant in Ernst & Young's Human Capital Consulting practice. My experience at EY gave me great exposure to talent management and its ability to drive organization success. I eventually reached a point where it was time to shift gears toward my long-term career aspiration, becoming a healthcare administrator. I was introduced to this career field after discovering that I couldn't "stomach" being a doctor but still wanted to have a career in healthcare that allowed me to impact people. Getting an MBA is essential to making this career switch successful and McCombs is the right place for me to pursue my personal and professional goals.
On the more personal side, I have been happily married to my teenage sweetheart Melvin for a little over 2 years now. I am also the proud puppy mom of a French Bulldog named Pepé, whose name is inspired by Pepé Le Pew because he looks and smells like him from time to time (bulldogs can be quite flatulent). Outside of spending time with family and friends, I love traveling to tropical destinations, watching (entirely too much) TV, going to the movies and taking an occasional spin class or two. Also, as a first generation college student, a passion of mine is to help others like me through college access initiatives. I have spent a great deal of time during my undergraduate and post-graduate career helping underserved students pursue higher education. I hope to continue working on that passion during my time at McCombs and also learn about what you all are passionate about.
I'm looking forward to the next two years and the connections I will make with y'all!
