Yes, I write, I blog, I tweet, I even take photos of my food - but I'm a journalist, not a blogger. There's a difference and I'm proud of my journalism education and bylines in top publications across Canada, from the Globe and Mail and Avenue to Canadian Living, Canadian Geographic, West, up! and CBC radio. I've written several cookbooks, covered chefs in their kitchens and at international competitions, reviewed restaurants and written about food of all kinds - from trips down the perogy trail in Alberta to searching for the best haggis in Scotland, sampling Cajun boudin in Louisiana, making pasta with nonnas in Italy, and hauling salmon, spot prawns and Dungeness crab from pristine Canadian coastal waters. Food is attached to culture, geography, history and local economies so writing about what people eat is a great way to tell an authentic travel tale.
