I’ve been accused of being a dreamer, stubbornly persistent and overly optimistic. However, I prefer “architect of awesomeness.” Because that’s what I believe life is really about—helping other people discover, achieve and live their dreams.
You see, life really is too short to settle for anything less than mind-blowing. Forget about settling for average, ordinary or boring! Embracing your inner misfit and shaking your “groove thang” to the beat of your own drum is positively exhilarating!
I knew from a young age that fitting in with the crowd wasn’t for me (though I’ve loved performing for crowds since I was 3). I started drawing my own line in the sand in high school, and I’ve always delighted in helping others draw their own line in the sand, whatever that may look like.
A “recovering perfectionist,” one of the few things I enjoy more than sports is working with Michael, Andrea, and the entire Promote A Book team. I am blessed to wake up every morning knowing I can help passionate people see that they can make a difference in the world.
How did I get here? Well, I’m the daughter of an IBM-er-turned-entrepreneur, who tempered my passion for performing with the need to make sure I could put food on the table while pursuing my dreams. My dad’s advice helped me land a position in a training program with a large regional bank, where I climbed the corporate ladder to head up the retail training area, and was responsible for developing and delivering training to over 3500 people in 5 states. This made me well versed in executing complex and challenging projects…and having fun doing it!
After a year in Europe, I returned to the States and worked with a management consulting firm, further whetting my desires for the excitement and rewards of entrepreneurship. From there, I worked with Bryan and Jeffrey Eisenberg (the inventors of Persuasion Architecture), where I became completely enamored with personas and this “new way” of marketing and communicating more effectively.
Along the way, I became a mother to now teenager, Caroline, who is the absolute light of my life. Of all my life’s accomplishments, the blessings of being her mother have brought me the most joy and fulfillment.
When I’m not spending time with my sweet Caroline, rocking out to contemporary Christian music or shouting at a player or referee on the TV–I get completely jazzed up connecting people with their passion and purpose!
