CeCe Fernandez, owner of La Rumba Productions, produce and host La Rumba Pittsburgh radio show (Pittsburgh’s 1st Latin Hits Music show). Also produces Latino Live events as La Rumba Live and TV segments focused on the Latino community for a local PBS station.

Obtained a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.S. in Industrial Engineering with a Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification. Currently work as a “Senior Engineer/Project Manager” and also the President of the ‘Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers – Western Pennsylvania Professional Chapter (SHPE-WPA).

Cindy Esther Fernandez Peralta (aka CeCe Fernandez), born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Began her dancing career at the age of 6 followed by a TV debut at the age of 9 in a children’s TV show called ”Sabado Chiquito de Corporan”. At the age of 11 joined the cast of ‘Topi Topi’ and at the age of 13 became one of the main hosts for ‘Asi son los Niños’.

Engineering Career…

Attended High School in New Jersey. Obtained a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Theater Arts from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) . During college years, was involved with various professional organizations such as the ‘Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)’, the ‘Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE)‘, the ‘Society of Women Engineers (SWE), etc. Also a sister of ‘Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc.‘

Obtained a M. S. in Industrial Engineering and a Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification from the University of Pittsburgh. Currently work as a “Senior Engineer/Project Manager” for one of the oldest Engineering companies in the area. Also the President of the ‘Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers – Western Pennsylvania Professional Chapter (SHPE-WPA)’.

As an Engineer, I have been a speaker at various events for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of NJ and participant of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of PGH. Engaged with organizations that strive to recruit and retain diversity in the area. Have been a speaker for local elementary schools, the Army Corp of Engineers, Professional development workshops etc. Was the representative for the Latino community for campaign hosted by State Farm Agents against drunk driving “Drinker or Driver, you can’t be both”/”Tomador o Conductor, no puedes ser los dos”.
