I'm a maker of things digital and physical and have been involved in the arts since I was a child. A native Texan, I moved to New York City at sixteen to study acting and musical theatre at NYU's School of the Arts. My screenplay, Shrinking Maria, earned me a scholarship at Film/Video Arts, an independent film production center in New York. While learning to shoot and edit video, I discovered Photoshop and my love affair with design began. As a young dancer from South Texas with stars in her eyes and dreams of The Great White Way, I certainly never thought I'd end up programming Actionscript or trying to learn Rhino 3D. I probably should've paid more attention in math class.
As much as I love movies and enjoyed designing movie websites, I also love making tactile things, decorative and functional objects and prints. So, after working as an interactive designer and art director at Warner Bros. Pictures for nearly 10 years, I left full-time work at the Studio to tackle several side projects I'd been noodling around with. Leaving a good job and exceptional colleagues in the midst of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression was terrifying, but the risk has paid off. I still go back to the Studio every now and then. And when I do, I work on projects that really excite and challenge me.
Currently, I'm growing my Etsy shop and am also working to bring several products to market in limited edition production runs, including the mltpl lamp, a customizable table lamp and the totm candlestick, a modular, stacking candlestick and sculptural object for the home.
