Cindy K. Miranda

Cindy Miranda graduated from Pasadena City College in May 2016 earning her Associate of Arts in Psychology, Social and Behavioral Science, and Humanities. She is a young professional seeking employment that complies with her area of study. She has extensive experience working with youth in the Pasadena area in schools such as Jefferson Elementary, Washington Middle School, and John Muir High School, where she served as a tutor in English and Science.

Cindy was chosen to intern at a non-profit organization in East Los Angeles called LA CAUSA YouthBuild (Los Angeles Communities Advocating for Unity, Social Justice and Action Inc.) in March 2014 where she served directly under the Executive Director. It is here where she gained invaluable knowledge and experience working with disenfranchised youth in the neighboring communities.

As her internship was coming to a close Cindy applied for the AmeriCorps Teacher's Aide position at LA CAUSA, and earned the title proudly. She was to work primarily with the Independent Studies students in the program where she dedicated her time to tutor, mentor and advise students who were in the process of transitioning into the collegiate and working world.

Along with her duties as a Teacher's Aid at LA CAUSA, Cindy committed to completing 600 hours of community service hours with the Los Angeles Police Department, returning to a branch in which she was previously employed with years before. She describes the experience as fulfilling and rewarding. She is a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and hard working individual with 10 years of experience in customer service, administrative, and academic positions.

Cindy will be attending the University of California, Santa Barbara in the fall of 2016, She will earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and minor in Music which allows her to study and pursue another longtime passion of hers; singing and performing.
